- Monitoring weight of babies and plotting it in growth monitoring chart
- Daily baby bed making and disinfection of bed with soap and water
- Checking of all accessories of bed during taking over
- Thermometer
- Measuring tape
- Resuscitation kit

- Hand rub
- Stethoscope
- Daily cleaning and disinfection of Radiant warmers, phototherapy units, infusion pumps, SpO2 monitors, SpO2 sensors, warmer sensors
- Room temperature reading and recording in log book
- Checking of emergency trolley for drugs and consumables
- Change of humidifier water
- Autoclaving - Linen, cotton swabs, instruments and maintenance of log book
- Cutting of syringe hub/ needle destruction and their proper disposal
- KMC and maintenance of log book
- Assist the doctor when performing emergency procedures
- Initiate resuscitation in the absence of doctor
- Take part in doctor’s rounds. Address relevant questions and be available for whatever questions the doctors may have concerning the baby or the attendants
- Monitoring of sweeper's job and maintaining log book for every shift
- Mopping
- NICU slippers cleaning
- Waste bin cleaning
- Surface disinfection (surfaces, critical points)
- Terminal disinfection of the baby beds
- Counseling of mothers - KMC/ Breastfeeding/ Hand expression of milk/ immunization/ identification of early signs of illness in baby
- General care of the baby
- Change baby's diaper
- Measure temperature
- Feed the baby
- Administer medications
- Involve parents during this session
- Change IV lines
- Administer blood transfusions when required
- Take blood samples
- Provide emotional support to the family
- Biomedical waste disposal according to Government of India guidelines
- Record every task done and observation made in monitoring sheet or other relevant sheet immediately after it is done
